  • Step 2: Personal Consultation

    Once we receive your application, we’ll schedule a friendly call to learn more about your family’s lifestyle, values, and specific care requirements. This allows us to tailor our search to find the best match for you.

  • Step 3: Registration & Commitment

    To begin the search process, families submit a registration fee, which secures your place in our exclusive matching system.

  • Step 4: The Search Begins

    Sit back while we curate a selection of highly qualified nannies based on your needs. We take care of presenting your position to our network of top-tier candidates and carefully evaluating who would be the best fit for your family.

  • Step 5: Meet Your Potential Nannies

    We’ll provide you with detailed profiles of the nannies we believe align with your family. You’ll then select who you’d like to interview to ensure a strong connection and compatibility.

  • Step 6: Trial Period

    (Optional but Recommended!)

    Choosing the perfect nanny is a big decision! We offer a trial period, where you can invite your top choice(s) for a test run in your home to observe their interaction with your children and household. If you need extra reassurance, you can try multiple candidates before making a final decision.

  • Step 7: Making it Official

    Once you’ve found your ideal nanny, we assist in finalizing an offer that outlines compensation, responsibilities, and expectations.

  • Step 8: Customized Agreement

    To ensure clarity and alignment, we work with both you and your nanny to draft a personalized work agreement that protects everyone’s interests.

  • Step 9: Ongoing Support

    Your journey doesn’t stop at placement! We remain available for continued guidance, check-ins, and additional support whenever needed. Your family’s success is our priority!

What We Look for in Our Nannies

We look for candidates who are qualified, experienced, and passionate about childcare.

Nanny Experience Tiers

At The Perfect Pair Agency, we understand that every family has unique needs when it comes to childcare.

To help you find the right fit, we’ve categorized our nannies into different experience levels. Please review the descriptions below to determine which level best suits your family’s needs.

  • • Has at least one year of childcare experience (e.g., daycare, babysitting, tutoring, camp counselor) but no professional nanny experience

    • CPR & First Aid certified or willing to obtain upon hire

    • Reliable transportation and strong communication skills

    • Eager to learn and grow within the nanny profession

  • • Everything from Perfect Pair Prodigy plus:

    •  At least two years of professional nanny experience

    • May have experience as a family assistant, live-in nanny, or au pair

    • Comfortable caring for multiple children and a range of ages

  • • Everything from Entry Level Nanny plus:

    • Three to five years of professional nanny experience

    • Knowledge of child development practices and household management

    • Experience with multiples, special needs, or specialized childcare needs

    • May hold a degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field

    • Confident in planning educational activities and developmental play

  • • Everything from Established Nanny plus:

    • Five+ years of professional nanny experience

    • Degree in a childcare-related field and/or specialized training

    • Extensive experience with high-profile families, travel nannying, rotational nannying (ROTA), or governess roles

    • Expertise in Montessori methods, newborn care specialist (NCS) training, sleep consulting, or other advanced childcare skills

    • Comfortable managing household staff, complex scheduling, and international travel

Candidate Screening Process

We ensure every candidate in our network meets the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and care. Here’s how we do it:

  • Comprehensive Application

    All potential nannies must complete an in-depth application, detailing their experience, qualifications, and childcare philosophy.

  • Initial Phone Screening

    If a candidate meets our criteria, we conduct a structured phone interview to discuss their background, childcare approach, and situational responses.

  • In-Person or Virtual Interview

    We conduct a face-to-face interview, assessing professionalism, communication skills, and overall demeanor. This is our opportunity to ensure the nanny represents our agency’s high standards.

  • Thorough Reference Checks

    We verify a minimum of three professional references, speaking with previous families and employers to confirm reliability, work ethic, and childcare skills.

  • Work & Education Verification

    All candidates must provide employment and/or educational history for the last five years, which is thoroughly reviewed by our team.

  • Online & Social Media Review

    We research each candidate’s digital footprint to ensure their online presence aligns with our professional expectations.

  • Nationwide Background & Driving Record Check

    We conduct comprehensive background screenings, including:

    ✔️ County & National Criminal History
    ✔️ Sex Offender Registry Search
    ✔️ Driving Record & Motor Vehicle Check

  • Minimum Experience & Age Requirement

    To be considered, our nannies must have:

    ✔️ At least two years of professional childcare experience (specifically for our long-term positions)

    ✔️ Be a minimum of 20 years old (specifically for our long-term positions)

  • First Aid & CPR Certification

    All nannies must obtain CPR and First Aid certification before beginning their placement. If they are not already certified, we provide guidance on how to complete this requirement.

    Beyond experience and credentials, we look for exceptional nannies who demonstrate:
